Jabs, jabs and yet more jabs

You can probably guess what this post will be about... after a short tour of York's venerable medical facilities, today I had Yellow Fever, Hepatitis A, Typhoid and the first of my three Rabies injections. Such fun. I can safely say that my arms now feel like they're going to fall off!
More importantly I now have my Yellow Fever certificate which will be pretty handy as I won't be able to get into Tanzania from Kenya without it- need to keep that one in a safe place. Also have now hit 20% of my target for fundraising on JustGiving, big thankyou to all who have donated so far.

Hill training

Hill training today (if that's even a thing in York!), there was mud aplenty as I field- tested my new trail running shoes. See picture of said shoes left. I will post another picture of these after I've put them through the Hadrian's Wall National Trail. I had almost forgotten the joys of running through a very very waterlogged field in the middle of winter but was swiftly reminded after today's 8 mile training run with hill reps on the Knavesmire.

Serious training has definitely begun- brutal half marathon tonight. Legs feel like lead. Warming down properly would probably have been a good idea. Spent a fair bit of today trying to sort out flights to/from Nairobi- looks like I'll be flying out on 9th April.

Quick disclaimer: never written anything like this before so bear with!

Now fully committed to working with Tearfund's partner charity Go MAD in Musoma in April, gave a quick talk at Church last Sunday about what I'll be doing  and a cheeky sponsorship plug for my Hadrian's Wall run. The run is now booked for the 4-6th March- very exiting/ mildly scary so hopefully the sponsorship money will soon come rolling in! I now have one month to get some serious training in.
